InterContinental Chiang Mai the Mae Ping, a luxury hotel in the old city, invites all food and drink lovers to let go of their evening at HONG’s Sky Bar, one of the highest rooftops in Chiang Mai, serving three styles of Chinese food and a variety of special drinks.

HONG’s Sky Bar is set on the 17th floor of the hotel, with a backdrop of Doi Suthep and 360-degree views of the beauty of Chiang Mai.

Open daily from 4:00 pm to 12:00 am, the venue is a romantic spot from which to view the colour of the sky change when the sun sets, from red-orange to gold, until the stars shine at night.

The menu served at HONG’s Sky Bar is inspired by three styles of Chinese cuisine, namely Cantonese, Sichuan and Taiwanese. A must-try is the fried spring rolls with duck and vegetables, a classic appetiser made with premium duck meat wrapped in dough and fried until golden brown. Sweet and sour pork ribs are stewed until meltingly soft and coated with a sauce that is a house special. A highlight is the avocado crab and caviar, a dish that showcases the richness of Taiwanese seafood, layering the ingredients so that diners can experience the freshness of each ingredient and the harmony when eaten together.

Cocktails at HONG’s Sky Bar are another specialty and are created by the venue’s mixologists. All signature recipes are inspired by Chinese culture, such as Gracefulness like Hong, which is refreshing with a sweet and sour taste, a ruby red drink that has elegance when held in your hand. Ginger Qipao will add warmth to the body with the spiciness of ginger, contrasting with the sweet aroma of craft soda made in-house using various types of berries grown in Chiang Mai. There are also many other liquors, wines, beers and beverage options available.
